Activity Description

Day (01) Yangon - Bagan (By Flight)

Domestic flight from Yangon to Bagan. Upon arrival in Bagan, proceed on a sightseeing tour, starting with the busy local market. Continue with visits to a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples such as Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Gubyaukgyi (Wetkyi-Inn), a temple with exquisite murals of the ‘Jataka Tales’ (scenes from the life of the Buddha) and Ananda Temple, with its four huge standing-Buddha images and numerous seated figures that are arranged around an interior gallery. Make a visit to a lacquer craftsman’s workshop in nearby Myingaba village. Stop at Manuha Temple, built in mon style in 1059; Nanpaya Temple, a unique sandstone monument that is said to have been the palace of King Manuha; and Gubyaukgyi (Myingaba) under the protection of UNESCO, noted for its ancient mural paintings. Observe a sunset in the vicinity of Bagan’s ancient monuments. Overnight at Hotel, Bagan.

Day (02) Bagan – Mt Popa - Bagan

Morning pick up from your hotel and visit busy Nyaung U Market. Then  explore Popa, a unique mountain region with fantastic religious attractions. We start our journey with an hour-long drive from Bagan to Mount Popa. Mount Popa is once a volcano and a religious pilgrimage site that houses numerous temples and shrines. It is known to be a sacred place. Its temples were built to worship Burmese Buddhist figures, known locally as ‘Nats’. We will start a journey up a steep path of 777 steps that will take us from the bottom of Mount Popa to its peak. We will pass by breathtaking scenery of the mountainside, and at the top, we meet a fantastic panoramic view of Bagan. Then, we will stop by a local workshop to witness how locals skillfully convert palm trees into sugar. After this, we will head to your hotel in Bagan. Overnight at Hotel, Bagan.
